What would the world look like if it were designed by art brut artists? Could the reality we live in become more accessible, friendly, aesthetic, or perhaps more radical and bolder in its form?

ARTBRUTEX. NEW WORLD ORDER explores the theme of modelling space according to the principles of people who often remain on the margins of official narratives about functionality and accessibility. That is why we no longer present only the works of art brut artists in a specific exhibition concept, but this time we go a step further – the artists use the language of art to design the reality that surrounds us. Due to the aspect of space design, we invited architect Kamila Bilińska as one of the artistic mentors. ArtBrutex is also an idea of open cooperation and involving other people in building a New World Order according to the vision of art brut artists. The exhibition takes viewers on a journey through a world transformed by the imagination, where the boundaries between art, architecture, design and everyday life are blurred.

The artists of the ArtBrut Gallery, using objects from their immediate surroundings, found materials or waste, create their own microcosms, reinterpreting the reality that surrounds them and proposing new, often surprising architectural and design solutions. They give new meaning to objects and the space around us.

The exhibition is also an invitation to reflect on the relationship between humans and space and to ask who has the right to design the world we live in. Could the New World Order – created by art brut artists – be more just, open and inclusive? Would a city created by outsider artists be more open to our needs? Perhaps the architecture of the future should draw inspiration from art brut – from its organic nature, freedom, courage and uncompromising attitude?

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the creation of the New World Order.
