ArtBrut Gallery in Wrocław invites you to the event accompanying Katinka Kaskeline's exhibition OUT OF THE DARK. The special guest of the event entitled Global warning is Anastazja Jarodzka.
The theme of the meeting will be the Anthropocene, i.e., the most recent, still unofficial geological epoch characterised by significant human impact on the ecosystem. The changes taking place are not only detrimental to the environment but have a significant impact on us. They are transforming the planet, with disastrous consequences also for humans: the urge to migrate, droughts, wars over water and resources. This theme can be observed in many ways in the current exhibition OUT OF THE DARK by Berlin-based artist Katinka Kaskeline. Extremely sensitive to social upheavals and events, in her works the artist refers to the dramatic migration crisis in the Mediterranean Sea, and the rise of nationalist sentiments in the world, and connects the fragility and instability of the individual human being with the vulnerability of societies, the animal world, and all of Nature.
Anastazja Jarodzka was born in 1992 in Wroclaw and graduated in 2015 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław with a diploma in painting. Currently a doctoral student at her alma mater. In 2014 she won the Award of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for outstanding artistic achievements. A visual artist creates large-format installations using mainly recycled materials.
The exhibition has been organised within a public task entitled: RUNNING ARTBRUT GALLERY AND STUDIO FOR SOCIO-CULTURAL INCLUSION FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTIAL DISABILITIES AND MENTAL DISORDERS IN 2022 financed by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
