I HUMAN - a motto which may capture a lot. Both general insights on human nature as well as personal considerations, experiences and episodes of an individual. And this exactly is the title of a new retrospective exhibition at the Wrocław ArtBrut Gallery & Studio, presenting the works of Andrzej Niedźwiecki, one of the artists for years associated with this gallery. Andrzej has found his own medium – a metal mesh he uses to create his objects-sculptures, often reaching the size of even several metres. Encrusted with various other objects, for example keys or family photos locked inside the sculptures. They form intimate statements about the artist himself, his own perception of himself and about his major priorities. This retrospective exhibition also contains works from other fields of art which represent Andrzej’s other fascinations – alongside his metal assemblages there are also artist’s drawings and texts as well as photographs with surprising unusual perspectives, which he uses to document his everyday life.

The exhibition has been organised within a public task entitled:RUNNING ARTBRUT GALLERY AND STUDIO FOR SOCIAL & CULTURAL INCLUSION FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTIAL DISABILITIES AND MENTAL DISORDERS IN THE YEARS 2016–2018 financed by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
