ART CRU in ArtBrut – a guest exhibition of Galerie ART CRU Berlin and its artists at ArtBrut Gallery.

The exhibition announces the mutual discovery of two related places on the map of Europe: in Berlin and in Wroclaw. Both galleries demonstrate complete dedication to collaboration with outsider art and art brut artists, and their belief that the works of their artists form an important part of contemporary art.

This encounter which results from curiosity – like the proverbial reflection in the mirror - offers a chance to reflect on the hitherto activities and definitely broadens the spectrum of experiences. It is an act of a NEW opening, both for the artists, and for the two galleries that have existed for a decade.

Galerie ART CRU Berlin is located in the very centre of the Berlin art scene and is a member of the 'Regional Association of the Berlin Galleries'. It participates in major European outsiders art fairs, it frequently participated in the POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair during the Berlin Art Week, Art Karlsruhe and in Outsider Art Fair in Paris. The gallery is supported by the PS-Art eV Berlin (Psycho-Social-Art) Association which is a network of various psychosocial institutions.

The exhibition features: Heidi Bruck – drawings; Betty Feix and Paul Gewinner – notepads / diaries; Katinka Kaskeline – paintings, drawings and collages; Peter Padburin-Thomys – painting; Oskar Zaumseil – graphics.

The exhibition has been organised within a public task entitled: RUNNING ARTBRUT GALLERY AND STUDIO FOR SOCIAL & CULTURAL INCLUSION FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTIAL DISABILITIES AND MENTAL DISORDERS IN THE YEARS 2016-2018 financed by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
