For the last 8 years, the BEYOND TABOO series of exhibitions has presented projects and artistic works by a group of artists associated with the ArtBrut Gallery & Studio. The artists take up sensitive personal topics connected with emotions, dilemmas, feelings, physicality and sensuality. Through difficult and not obvious relations with the outside world, they refer to the history of exclusion and the struggle to break stereotypes and various taboos still present in social life.

- focuses on these two incredibly important segments of reality in which we live, but there are as many artistic concepts as there are artists. Therefore, it is impossible to realistically determine when and what is the beginning or the end, when this appropriate moment and the time preceding it occur. So, we can - merely or may be fully - trust our intuition and have faith in the authors of the works. For some of them, it is Birth and Death, for others it is a utopian land of happy people or an apocalypse related to the annihilation of nature, changing social order, legal disputes, climate, migrations. The word - Uncertainty - may be the key to this exhibition. Social unrest, epidemics, border tensions - in such times it is hard to maintain balance and stability, to fight for the harmony of one's own life.

Some of the works are more personal statements, intimate messages, observations from the nearest vicinity, detached from contemporary global problems. In difficult times for the world, reflecting on the end and the beginning leads to questions about the fragility of life, the sense of our own actions and life choices. Can the end become the beginning for something new? A reflection appears on our own opportunities and the role we can play in a dynamically changing reality.
