FREEDOM

We warmly invite you to a meeting and mutual participation by artists of the ArtBrut Gallery and actors of Theatre 21 which is a follow-up to the exhibition 'Whither freedom? ...' currently at the Gallery.

July 5th, 2016, 4:00-5:30 PM
Venue: 46A Ruska Street, ArtBrut Gallery and Studio For Social & Cultural Inclusion as well as the courtyard & the mural area under the Gallery’s windows.

Actors of Theatre 21, artists and friends of the ArtBrut Gallery - together with the audience - will be invited to jointly explore the meanings and signification of the letters that constitute  the word 'freedom’: abbreviations, anagrams, puns, homonyms - an artistic game of words and letters, the product of which will become a part of the ArtBrut Gallery’s mural.

Tuesday's meeting will be thematically linked to two events: the exhibition 'Whither freedom? ...' in the ArtBrut Gallery and 'Passover is a celebration of freedom' a collaborative performance by Theatre 21 and POLIN - the Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. The event will be convened by Dominika Jeżewska, curator of the 'Is freedom ?...  exhibition and Justyna Sobczyk, founder and director of Theatre 21.

During this year’s 12th Brave Festival – ‘Outcasts’, Theatre 21 is presenting two performances: 'Falls - Episode 2' and 'Clowns or about a family - Episode 3'.

The exhibition has been organised within a public task entitled:RUNNING ARTBRUT GALLERY AND STUDIO FOR SOCIAL & CULTURAL INCLUSION FOR PERSONS WITH INTELLECTIAL DISABILITIES AND MENTAL DISORDERS IN THE YEARS 2016-2018 financed by the Municipality of Wroclaw.
